Feeling stuck inside....let's go for a nature walk!
We definitely have some nicer weather happening so a walk through the neighbourhood might just be the ticket!
Seems simple enough..and it is. Stroll around and see what treasures you can find....rocks, sticks leaves and pine cones are all a pretty exciting find. Our little guys love to collect items and then carry them around in a box or bag.
Don't forget to give them an opportunity to examine their collections. At school I have a little container from the dollar store with a handle. I store my nature collection in there and your wee ones love to take it off the shelf....take out all the bits and investigate them. Then we pack it back up until next time.
Keep an eye on your little guys to make sure what they're picking up is safe for their stockpile. I remember one nature walk that I took a group of children on....they found a dead squirrel and they wanted to put it into their bag...thank goodness I had been keeping a watchful eye on them!
Collect lots of bits to explore over and over but also take some photos of the object you can't take with you. Look at them and talk with your little guys to remember your discoveries and your outing.
Just have a fun time outside...don't forget to look up and down to see what nature has to offer.
