Clothes Line Stories

A fun way to tell stories is to use a "clothes line". You can pin up your story pieces on the clothes line while telling your tale.....or even better encourage your wee one to pin the pieces to encourage their fine motor development!

I use a variety of props to tell stories.  Props can be made from fabric and felt or you could use pictures from magazines or colouring books.

Once you've gathered your story pieces and some clothes pins, it's time to hang your line.  It 's as easy as tying a length of string between two chairs and you're ready to go.

Story telling doesn't have to a complicated activity.   A story can come from a familiar song like Old McDonald or The Eensie Weensie Spider.

Don't worry if you forget the words....use a book to refresh your memory or better yet...just make it up as you go along.

To encourage creativity...have random pieces to pin and make up your own story. Ask your little one about the pieces.....try some opened questions and unleash the imaginations!
