Fine Motor Fun #2

Let's get busy with some more fine motor fun!

Again you'll want to rummage through your recycling bin before garbage day.

What we need is plastic containers that have some sort of lid.
At school I have used plastic containers with twist lids such as mayonnaise and apple sauce containers.

Next I gathered little collections of toys or objects and put them into the containers.  I would always try to use collections that I thought would appeal to the children.  Little dinosaurs, pom poms, fabric leaves.....you know what your little guys love!

Twist or snap your lids on and now it's time for your wee ones to get the lid off!  This is great practice for their fine motor skills and also a wonderful opportunity for some engaging conversation.  Talk about the objects that are found, the colours and shapes.  Fine motor and language development in the same game....what could be better?
